Powertech's Dewey-Burdock Project Application Accepted by NRC

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - 10/07/09) - Powertech Uranium Corp. (TSX:PWE - News)(Frankfurt:P8A - News) ("Powertech" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has found the Company's application for its Dewey-Burdock uranium in situ project acceptable for detailed technical and environmental review. The Dewey-Burdock Project is located in Fall River and Custer Counties, South Dakota. The source material license application was resubmitted August 10, 2009.

Richard Clement, Powertech President and CEO, said, "We are indeed pleased that the NRC has accepted our license application as complete and that the technical and environmental review is underway. We now have two of the federal applications accepted as complete and will soon be submitting the third, to the Bureau of Land Management. The EPA accepted our Underground Injection Control permit application earlier this year. Also, we continue to work closely with the State of South Dakota regarding its comments on the UIC permit application submitted in May of this year."
