I didn't buy gold then because I was wanting to move US$ to NZ$ and was greedily hoping for a bit more fall from US50c to maybe US45c or even a bit lower. Damn.... zoomed now to US73c. Oh well, there's always a plan B, now adopted, in part.

Wait a minute, it looks as though NZ$ has done even better than gold! I would not have thought that. Up 50% for NZ$ but gold only up 25%. And the gold spread is large.

Where is Elroy? When you're hot you're hot, and recently Brazil has been on a roll. It locked down the 2016 summer Olympics for Rio de Janeiro last week and completed an US$8-billion public offering on its stock market yesterday, the biggest globally since the financial crisis began. China was making all the headlines at the start of the year, but recently the buzz is all about Brazil -- and for good reason, too.
