The Austrians indeed seem to have pegged it. I am sure your figures on notional values are correct.....and they are indeed scary. Extinguishing the derivatives seems to be a way to go, I have always said it is the only way, but with the players being so influential and having so much to lose, it is unlikely that extingushment by fiat can happen. Hell, we can't even get a decent clearing mechanism in place because of their influence and that of course is the absolute first step.
