"If all Obama had to do was spend $80B (which is like less than 1% of the GDP) to prevent a "crisis" from turning into a catastrophe, then it wasn't much of a "crisis" to begin with, no?" Tenchu, we are far from out of the woods on this one. Things are looking cautiously optimistic, but that is only if present trends continue. And cutting off the spending would not be the best way to make sure that happens.
