>> A Better Way to Health Reform

Last night, watching some news show, for the first time it became clear to me what the game plan is. Lindsay Graham explained it in a way even *I* could understand.

According to him, they need 60 votes to get a bill out of the Senate. But after it has been through the reconciliation process, it can pass with a 51-vote margin.

So, they can strip provisions like the "Government Option" out and get it passed with 60 votes, then add those "offensive" provisions back in during the reconciliation process. Then, only 51 votes are required for final passage, giving moderate Democrats cover ("Oh, I voted for the Senate version, but didn't support the FINAL bill"). Basically, it will allow 10 Senators the ability to deny culpability.

I have no confidence at all the "monstrosity" will be stopped.
