Every normal person would like to see the economy recover. I doubt there are many right wingers who are rooting against it just to see Obama embarrassed but we could likely find a few to prove your case.

Setting that aside, there are many factors in play that put such a recovery at risk. REITs for example. I bought some SPG puts the other day because there is no good reason for commercial REITs to be highly valued right now, but with the fake rally confidence they keep getting bought up. There are too many vacancies in malls, rent income continues to be reduced even for those which are occupied. The predictions for retail sales over the holiday season is very bleak for everyone but Wall Mart. If/when we have a break out of H1N1 malls will be ghost towns.
