Obama and the Peace Prize

I turned on the television this morning to find Obama making yet another speech. I thought, he really does need a 12 step program to address his penchant for constantly making "historic" speeches.

Although I tend to tune out as soon as I see Obama's head start drifting from side to side as he reads off his telepromptered remarks, I happened to notice the captioning which indicated that he had been awarded the Nobel Peace prize.

I ROFL'd. This had to be an early SNL skit.

But, no. It was true. Despite the fact that the nomination deadline was February 1, 2009, barely two weeks into his Presidency, someone actually nominated Obama for this year's award. [Wouldn't you love to know who did that?]

And he was willing to accept it, knowing he had no accomplishments to justify it. [I'm sure the $1 million prize was too hard for him to pass up.]

Obama won because he is not George Bush and because his articulated beliefs are designed to undermine this country.

Those liberal Europeans on the Nobel committee like anyone who undermines the strength and power of the United States.

They better be careful what they wish for. If Obama gets his way, Europe will have to start pouring more capital into its own defense. Human nature is human nature. The enemies of peace and freedom are not interested in peaceful co-existence. They accept it only when they must.

The actual truth is that Barack Obama has done much to undermine peace in the world since he took office.

Too bad the fantasy driven Nobel committee stopped living in the real world some time ago. Now they have reduced themselves to making political statements and cheapening any remaining meaning to the peace prize.
