Agreed...would only be a stop gap measure while you adjusted to the new reality (IE figured out how to grow your own). Its not a good long term plan in and of itself.

Also I think odds of hunger in the USA are very low even in a collapse scenario...expensive food at the stores that many can not afford and free crappy food rationed by the government, yes, but large amounts of starvation, no. Stuff the government doesn't pass out or doesn't pass out enough of will be like gold or better than gold.

Anyhow, I still prefer an escape plan vs a bunker down plan. So no piles of food around my place and if I did hoard, it would be more upscale, not cheap carbs...stuff that I could add to my free government carbs to make them taste better and to add some better nutrition. <g/ng>
