Harvardd-

My opinon (and goodness have I been wrong on this stock) is that we will only see a couple of points on the upside in the next few months.

Happy Hunting

Harvardd and all,

I'm not quite in your position but I do have some Feb. 17 1/2 calls that I bought "in the money" just after the Oct. 6 announcement. Needless to say, but they are not "in the money" now. I really thought that the earnings shortfall at that time was a sales timing problem since many tech companies often miss quarterly earnings due to a delay in being able to book sales.

During the weeks since the announcement on Oct. 6, I now believe that the problem is one of management. The announcement of the CEO change and the restructuring of staff should have given the stock a bounce in my mind. This, along with the IBM rumor should have positioned the stock in the 17-19 range IMHO. The market correction probably took all the good wind out of the announcement by SGI this week. Since I am new to following SGI I am reserving judgement, however, there appears to possibly be some correlation between the current CEO staying on as Chairman and the failure of SGI stock to rebound. I am saying this based on the feelings of others I have read on this thread.

I think this is an interesting and informative thread and while I am disappointed with SGI's performance and stock, I am pleased to be learning a lot about the company and investors' thoughts from those who post here.

Have a great day,
Paul Haynes
