Harry Connick Jr. Speaks Out About Blackface Skit On Australian TV Connick's response to this event was absolutely courageous and dead on. He didn't waver, he wasn't weak, he said what needed to be said. Connick is a great American -- not only for this but because of his untiring efforts in NOLA. And a great entertainer as well. Most intelligent post I've seen you make on this thread. BTW all of the guys in black face were doctors. They genuinely didn't think there was anything wrong with what they did. When it comes to racial and ethnic relationships, I suspect AU is probably back where the US was in the 1980s.
