If you read the article you'd know Shepard being gay had nothing to do with his being killed.

I know the left has annointed him a martyr but he was just picked by a couple meth-heads as being a mark.

and the primary killer was probably bisexual himself:

Of course, he is.......there's no surprise there. He has a great deal of self hatred because he IS gay.

The killer was apparently open about his bisexuality. Regardless it was about robbery for dope money, not sex.

Hence the rage:

When pressed by Vargas as to why he continued beating Shepard after he had already taken his wallet, McKinney said, "Sometimes when you have that kind of rage going through you, there's no stopping it. I've attacked my best friends coming off of meth binges."

McKinney knew Shepard was gay.....that fueled his rage.

Again if you read the article, you'd know the killer was talking about meth fueled rage in general. Furthermore the kiler attacked other folks that night .... for no real reason, certainly not rage about homosexuality:

McKinney took Shepard's wallet and his shoes, got back in the truck and told Henderson to drive to town. He says his plan was to burglarize Shepard's apartment. But when they parked the truck they encountered two young men who police say were vandalizing cars. Hostile words led to a fight and for the second time that night, McKinney went on the attack.

One of the men was struck so hard his skull was fractured.
The injured man's friend retaliated, slamming McKinney in the head with a small bat. Everyone fled, just before a police car happened on the scene.

....
The rage is very self destructive and they turn it on themselves as well as others.....hence his meth addiction.

Meth addiction is caused by homosexuality, you're saying? Nonsense.

-------------
Nope. Makes it better.....humanizes gays esp. when they find out that a number of their sports heroes are gay.

Baloney, it makes people think about gayness and assume more folks are gay who may not be.

When I worked for the LA councilman, I learned all about this stuff. Education makes things better, not worse.

I believe you were politically indoctrinated. But in fact, people rebel against mind-control attempts.

Make up your mind. Its you who said that GSA's would provide teens with an alternative to bus station bathrooms.

An alternative way to meet other gays.

Can't they meet in band or class? Why do they have to have a gay club in school?

Because its hard to discern who is gay and who isn't unless they self identify. Most gay people are not effeminate in the case of men and dykish in the case of women.......so there is no way of knowing who is who.

Maybe you could have them wear pink triangles on their shirts.

Its about the gov't reducing discrimination as it has done throughout American history with different minorities.

Actually government has been the primary source of discrimination historically.

Not true. Many religions once condemned interracial marriage. I bet some still do.

You can find religious people who believe all kinds of things ... some are even liberal .... but you won't find it in the Bible, for instance.

In my relatively small hometown in a rural area a couple weeks ago, a 39 yo meth-head went into a Baptist church in the middle of the day in the middle of town (this church is surrounded by homes and is a block away from library and a couple blocks from a junior high school) and robbed and beat two old women there - one in her 60's and one in her 70's. One was the treasurer/boookeeper, the other a secretary. No one else was in the church at the time. Stole $60 from a purse of one of the ladies. The guilty party was caught a few days later - apparently the description of the mugger was good enough for the police to figure out a likely suspect - they showed some pictures and one of the ladies picked him out. The police had his pic since he had a lengthy record. Both ladies were very badly beaten. Per my Mom last Thursday afternoon - one lady is now home from the hospital, the other still in a hospital in St Louis. The swelling in her face had just gone down enough for them to start dealing with her - a bunch of bones in her face were reportedly broken.

Why would this guy have beaten these old women at all and this severely? They wouldn't have resisted and if they had he could certainly overpower them and frighten them. Why the needless violence?

Well, if I understand you and Kevin Jennings, that creeps rage was probably repressed homosexuality and maybe he had been belittled by old women for his sexuality or by Baptists or whatever.
