party leaders are pushing harder to the left than Barack

Personally, I find it quite difficult to understand. People have a good thing going - a pluralistic society, rather wealthy, with liveable wages... not perfect, but probably still better that just about every other place on the planet... and they feel compelled to risk destroying it and have a revolution.

But -- they do have about half the voters on their side. Last year, more than half.

I've felt for a long time that the people around the president are even more problematic than he is.
