An example of the American machismo I was bringing up this AM happened during the UF game two weeks ago. Tebow had the flu.....he shouldn't have been playing. And yet, he was in the game.....through 3 quarters. UF was well ahead......I don't remember the score. Suddenly Tebow got taken out badly in a tackle.......I think he had a concussion. Its my contention that had Tebow had been at the top of his game that tackle wouldn't have happened the way it did. Why did the coach let him pay in the first place? Why did he keep him in the game when UF was winning by a large margin? Why did Tebow not take himself out of the game? Its all this gladiatorial machismo Americans are famous for. As a consequence Tebow got his ass kicked badly......and may suffer consequences years later. That kind of BS is replicated in this country over and over again. I think its one of the reasons we are the most violent first world nation in the world.......our fascination with guns and war. Of course, we have to eradicate homosexuality.........it doesn't fit the American macho image. The irony is, of course, that many of the ones most macho in this society also happen to be gay.
