Many of these patients were relatively healthy adolescents and young adults who needed to be treated in an intensive care unit (ICU) within a day or two of being admitted to the hospital, note doctors from both countries. Many patients required mechanical ventilators, say the reports, slated to be published in the Nov. 4 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Apparently, it goes deeper into the lungs than most flus do. Tonite on the news, the reported that a boy of 6 with no underlying disease had to be rushed to the hospital because couldn't breathe. He was put on a ventilator. My cousin said tonite this is the first time he's seen so many patients for flu.......and he's in FLA.
