I tend to agree with Biden's approach. Biden's approach would have worked if it was implemented immediately after SF took the Taliban down the first time. Allowing them to regroup, rearm and recruit has made them too strong for that approach now. We need the surge to kill as many as possible first. Then back out most and leave SF in place with enough support to continue to build and strengthen local security. Eventually regional and national leaders will emerge from successful local forces. To accomplish all that we need a 20-30+ year commitment.
