Nobody seems to have picked up on perhaps the most important point from the conference call. In reference to Sun's recent product announcement, Hendrickson stated that "they (meaning ANCR) were very excited see FC-AL mentioned in the release and that more advanced products would require switches". Couple this with his repeated statements about lengthy OEM testing cycles and volume shipping for MKII's in late summer 1998, and you begin to draw some conclusions. If you know that no other FC switch vendor has FC-AL capability and won't for a while, you might think what he was implying....
