And after 8 years of failing to accomplish the military goals, The Political goals were wrong. Bush went with the State Department goals, and they were to put the Expats back in power. And "Nation build." So we farted around with it while we went after Iraq. The Dems never wanted anything to do with it except to use it to beat Bush over the head. So now Obama is stuck with it. The Al Qaeda in The Afghan/PaK area must be chortling. Like the Viets, they know if they wait we will leave.
