i hope gold drops below $800 an ounce - i'm loading up then.

having said that, the foundation of this analysis is that the average price for gold in 2008 was the *true* value for gold.

maybe 2008 prices were still depressed.

maybe 2009's average price is closer to *true* value?

who knows?

watch the dollar, though, as gold will tend to be strong as the dollar weakens. the bet now is the dollar continues to weaken as a matter of government policy - even if they lie about it on an hourly basis.
