Yes. The set of circumstances can make some rich. Set of circumstances disappear the wealth goes through the door.

Give you a few examples:
Rock music: as FM technology developed and Japanese made electronics got cheaper, selling music became extremely lucrative.
The suppliers of music got extremely rich since there were not too many suppliers for the demand.
That is why the Beatles gorged in money and success since the competition was very few.
Today there ais too much supply and demand is stagnant in the OECD and growing in the emerging markets.

(Man, I am tired of black music on TV here!)

So the Beatles are the product of a set of circumstances. That circumstance disappeared it is tough to make money with music today.
