Here's a way to get US based tech support. If you buy a Dell, HP or any other computer from Costco you get tech support from Costco. It's there Concierge service. They answer the phone within seconds and if they can't fix the problem, they'll get the manufacture's (Dell, HP, etc.) tech support on the line and they are US based.

The question of them "knowing" anything is questionable. If it's a run of the mill problem they will usually be able to help. If it's more complex, then its anyone's guess.

Also, Costco extends the manufactures warranty from one year to two years. There's no added cost for this extension.
