Peter, the favorite escape tactic of liberals.

They claim they can prove something, but when challenged to do so they say it's inherently obvious or they don't have the time.

It's as if they can't simply say, "My opinions are my own." Instead, they have to claim, "My opinions are the truth, and that's that."
