Jess,
You make it sound like somebody's hijinx. - What of the true
devaluations in SE Asia, The real-estate economy in Hong Kong, and the potential domino defaults of banks with loans outstanding. This to hit Japan when they thought they were at depth of recession.
There is still a story to be told. Good luck.

Hong Kong market finished up 2.5% and Japan up .5%, let's see if the US takes the lead back
