The further you dig into dark matter and other "patches" to the big bang theory, holes start showing up.

Every time a new different set of remains is found, it throws the perceived idea of evolution into a spin.

I realize this is the scientific method and is accepted. But there is not a concrete answer on the evolution/big bang side that is plausible. You are absolutely putting faith into some part of that theory because it will never be proven.
