Absolutely, this is all about preserving a brand that the NFL spent decades building up. As popular as Rush and Glenn and that whole crowd are with their base, they are mostly repugnant to mainstream America. The favorability polls for them bear that out. To use the pop music metaphor, their ability to "cross over" into a more mainstream audience is very, very limited. Like some musical groups, the provocative edge that made them so big in their own niche is a turnoff for everyone else. And sadly for the Republicans, these clowns are defining their party now. When even Lindsey Graham is being slammed as a RINO, you know the party is withdrawing further and further into itself.
