Ron:
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to post a negative word to you. You are coming from left field and the baseball season is now over. The doctrine of the trinity, the deity of Jesus Christ, and the blood atonement are the foundations of Christianity. If you do not share these beliefs, you do not share in the brotherhood of Christ. Please set aside your preconceptions, what others may have stressed to you and 'do the first works over again'. Begin by examining the life of Christ in the Gospels. If you can do that, I believe you will see that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the true Son of God sent by His Father to save the world, and that Jesus in turn sent the Holy Spirit, the third person of the trinity, as comforter and to convict men of their sinfulness.
Shalom,
Lee

"Now if you are going to tell me you were saved at the age of 3 then you are one heck of a man"
That is what I am telling you, but I am (to use your language), one heck of a sinner (I come from a way back yonder generation---my folks taught us that words like "heck", "gee", "gosh", and "dadburnit", were thinly veiled cuss words and derivitives of hell, Jesus, God, and dammit---so---I even passed that heritige on to my kids as well.
I believe I gave my testimony on here about a year ago. In essence:
My mama would share the story like this- At the conclusion of a service, an invitation was being given to accept Christ. She said she felt this tugging on her dress and finally she looked down at me and I said: "Mama, I want to be saved." So------she 'sez she took me down to the altar and prayed with me and then I prayed my little heart out confessing how bad of a "little boy am I" and something wonderful happened. Jesus came into my heart!
Now Ron, I also have shared how I backslid at College and during my 20's I t'was no saint---But thank God, I eventually repented---our marriage was saved---and my little girl, who had been praying 'fer her daddy at a children's Christian summer camp---she got her counsellors, dorm mother and others to pray for me---and guess what! God answered her prayer---she ended up getting a new daddy and my wife ended up getting a new husband.
And, at times I am still one "heck" of a sinner----ouch---it's hard to even enquote that word. What an old-fashioned duffer am I.
Have a sensational evening.
Welcome to this motely crew of sinners, among whom are a group of earnest "becomers."
J.
