Thanks SS. I agree it wasn't a fair question since you didn't have a MS to read. However your answer was very helpful and confirmed things I already believed. She didn't let me read any of her writings either even though she knew I read a lot more than most people. The only other ones I know that read her MS were her family. Of course parents and siblings don't always give the best criticism.

She seemed to approach this from a "if my writing is good, it will sell". I looked at it more from a POV of there is a proven way things have been done for years and you have to approach it from the business end as much from the creative end. There is a romantic view that writers sit in a remote cabin and write and make millions while never having to deal with the outside world. I never thought for a second that was real.

Again, thanks for taking the time to write that. A lot of good advice there.
