Government and business do have entwined interests

Indeed. Cronyism.
That's the key obstacle to recovery, at least, according
to our own prescription for growth delivered as part of
conditions for IMF loans that we now don't follow.

In part it is due to blackmail of the monetary authorities by
using financial WMD (too big to fail), which happened in
most countries during this financial crisis.
