Slowly getting time that you guys learn you have no monopoly on 'colored', which definitely is not the same as African American.

I had a 'colored' girlfriend for 10 years. While certainly not being African American she sometimes considered herself black while IMO 'colored" was the better word for her cocktail of 50% (Indian) Indian, 25% black and 25% Scottish (white).
