It was so nice today I took the dog for a long walk. The colors are at their prettiest right now, and it was interesting to see all of the different red bushes and grasses in people's yards. I'm going to take a trip down to the local nursery and see what they have. I particularly like the reds and oranges. Most of the trees around here turn yellow.

The walk gave me lots of energy so I decided to hula hoe the flower beds. I do that about once a month and it really keeps them clean of weeds.

I do need to pull a lot of dead leaves from last summer's dieing plants and someone else needs to rake.

I don't rake!

This is the best pic I could find of a hula hoe. They have long handles and the metal part is surrated on one side.....at least on mine it is......and smooth on the other side.

Really makes weeding a breeze.
