Regarding etch tools. Dave, I don't know how one could finds out about your contention, unless there are some TI or Intel people out here What you can find out thoughis market share for last 15 years or better via dataquest or vlsi. I don't subscribe anymore, its expensive and i learned what I needed. But if tools had been sent back, it would have been all over the Lam and other threads cuz that would be big news. Returns just don't happen often. I could envision some tool not being the best fit for a customers application, everyone has quirks and sometimes the match issues don't surface right away.
In any event, if I recall correctly, you were searching for hope in that timeframe for some reasin to believe PMAT, now trikon, had a chance in hell of surviving, and didn't really care about amat etchers anyway.
