that's silliness, imo. you earn trophies, and who needs one anyways, they just take up space? I got one once for ... golfing, of all things. what can I say... I could chip and putt for hell. I loved what my coach said when she I announced it... she said "I never know what round J has shot, not matter what it was... I ask... how'd it go... and she says "allright" (with a shrug). I sucked at science. and math. great at english and pix taking. I don't understand how a persons idea of themselves is wrapped up in awards or tropies... or even grades in things they aren't good at. yes, I did care if I got an A in English. but that was my field and I worked hard at it. yes, I agree... got to be a lot of silliness about 'feeling good' stuff. but that was not the kid's fault.
