The pine beetle is devastating the Colorado forests, little by little, year after year. The damage has now spread to entire mountain sides of orange, dead pine trees. The forest department experiments with solutions, but short of controlled burns and replanting, nothing seems to slow these little bugs. I read, maybe a year ago, the most probable solution will be that the beetle will simply eat its way out of existence.
