The Soviets removed their missiles from Cuba, and we removed ours from Turkey and Italy. Here, all we heard about at the time was that the Soviets had removed their missiles from Cuba - no mention that we had had missiles in Turkey and were removing them.

Actual FACTS prove you FOS as per usual, Dave.

"Three months after the Cuban Missile Crisis the United States secretly removed all its nuclear missiles from Turkey and Italy."

So, the ACTUAL situation was that Kennedy ( actually, Eisenhower ) had acted aggressive, as you favor, and nearly provoked a situation leading to a nuclear exchange.

Both of the situations Kennedy is most known for, the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis, were situations he was put in by Eisenhower executive actions.

"That is an utterly ridiculous claim that requires one to take Kruschev's "excuse" literally."

Nothing ridiculous about it. Look, I realize that you and your ilk are constantly attempting to revise history. But it doesn't mean that others accept it. And this is just another attempt.
