I have the distinction of being the guy who bought the last three sets of Jarts off of ebay. I had a bid open on another set when ebay decided to ban them.

funny thing is...I've never used them. I did give two sets away, so now only have one final set.

the attitude that our culture has adopted of having to pass laws to protect ourselves from ourselves is pretty pathetic and a slippery slope.

Yeah, I'm sure a couple of people took jarts to the leg or head or whatever. But hell, when we were kids we had dirt clod wars that turned into rock wars. As a parent, I would be horrified if my kid and his buddies started throwing rocks at each other and I would stop them. That's my job as a Dad. But, what are they gonna do? outlaw rocks?

Having ended up in the ER a few times for bicycle and motorcycle accidents, I am a strong believer in helmets. But I don't believe in laws for them.

And as a skier, I could never imagine wearing a helmet. But I do see kids on the slopes now with helmets.

Clearly the kneejerk reaction of "there outta be a law" has become a real part of our culture.
