Maybe a "real radical" wouldn't settle so easily if thwarted but still what someone can get passed isn't a good measurement. I get your point. Only suggesting that maybe what they're trying to convey is that he's not a "real radical." He's definitely something less than a "real radical." How much less, dunno. Edit: This same thing came up earlier re "real conservatives" and big-tent conservatives. The "real conservatives" disparage the big-tent/let's-get-a-majority conservatives "RINOS."
