Yes..............Neeka and I took advantage of some nice weather. (my friend called and canceled....she didn't feel well) I changed into my jeans, grabbed a hooded zip up sweat shirt.....the one with lots of pockets......grabbed my pen knife and a cloth bag and headed for the woods.

The first person we ran into was a young fellow and his black lab. He had stepped into a bees nest and had a few stings and was on his way out. I told him I hoped he wasn't allergic......he wasn't......and decided I'd better take a different trail.

Next we ran into an older couple mushroom hunting. They were so nice and doing quite well. I hoped they hadn't gotten them all.

I started finding mushrooms here and there, and really had to work hard to get them. (You can tell you're in Chanterelle areas because the air gets quite muggy and warm) Up hills! Over fallen trees. Through Salal fields. I started breaking out in a sweat, and my legs were aching.

A couple of young ladies came through on horses. They were chatting away and didn't see me until they returned about 1/2 hr later. We said hi to each other and when Neeka saw those horses she ran full tilt to me. Ears back going "woof - woof" and had a very worried look on her face. LOL

I think she thought those were the biggest dogs she'd ever seen.

I went further and further into the woods, and was surrounded by the loveliest views. The leaves of the scattered deciduous trees were gold and red and orange........the scene was just beautiful. Of course I didn't bring a camera.

I got a couple of lbs of mushrooms. Now I have to wash and saute and freeze them.

The dog had a blast and is sleeping soundly in front of the fire right now. She takes dozens more steps than I do.....probably covers miles and miles, and always gets worn out in her trips to the woods.

;)
