Hell, they didn't need to. Kruschev himself referred to JFK's weakness at the time.

This argument is absurd. Without regard for anything going on in Turkey, Kruschev would NEVER have started moving missiles into Cuba had he anticipated the humiliating response he received. It would never have happened.

The point is that a weak president invites conflict. That you are trying to argue against this point suggests you are totally ignorance of the fundamentals of diplomacy and foreign policy.
