This whole "We're victims! We're victims! We're victims! We're victims!" schtick is also somewhat reminiscent of 1981-84; after Reagan kicked Carter's butt, liberals whined and moaned about everything under the sun for the next four years. No matter what happened, it was an awful tragedy that was all Reagan's fault. But in the next presidential election, the candidate with a positive forward-looking agenda easily prevailed over the whiny "Everything sucks! Bwaaaaaaaah!" platform. We'll see if history repeats itself. We won't see a landslide for Obama but there is no evidence that Republicans are making any big inroads so far.
