Phase One Exploration Program at Ore Gold Property in Yukon Complete Tue Oct 20, 10:56 AM ca.news.finance.yahoo.com Anglo Canadian Uranium Corp. (TSX-V: URA.V) is pleased to announce that preliminary exploration efforts on the Ore Property in the White River-Dawson District have been completed. A mapping and prospecting program of the Ore Property is currently underway, with preliminary results of this work establishing that several klippe of prospective ophiolitic rocks overlie a shale-matrix supported ophiolitic mélange unit. The basal portions of the ophiolitic klippe are intensely talc-carbonate +/- altered (listwanite) with shales in the immediate tectonized footwall zone being highly carbonaceous (graphitic). Tectonic blocks of ultramafic, diabase and mafic volcanic rocks within the mélange zone are pervasively carbonate altered. This tectonized contact zone displays intense and pervasive hydrothermal alteration with numerous quartz and quartz-carbonate veins. These veins along with the carbonaceous unit have been sampled for assay. The Ore Property overlies a broad belt of the White Channel Gravels, a distinctive quartz cobble conglomerate. Extensive placer mining activity in the area has provided considerable amounts of bedrock exposure, in particular along Last Chance and Hunker Creeks. By Klondike standards bedrock exposure is considerable. This provides a definite advantage at the Ore Property in determining possible geologic controls to mineralization and to help define exploration targets. Placer operations at Last Chance Creek traverse the property area. Historical production during the period 1998-2006 at Last Chance Creek amounted to approximately 37,056 crude ounces of gold during the period 1998-2006. During the same period, placer operations at Hunker Creek, located just to the east of Ore Property, produced 61,872 crude ounces of gold. The source of the gold from these operations is yet to be traced. High quality placer roads extend throughout the property area and the Klondike Highway is within 3 kilometers of the property. This extensive road network will be used to facilitate ongoing exploration efforts.
