Majority Leader Harry Reid explained at a press conference last week that "All we're doing is wiping the slate clean by adjusting the baseline to what is current policy. This is not new policy."

It was reported yesterday that Reid told a room full of doctors, words to the effect of, "We're going to do this $250 Billion, but we expect you to be fully supportive of our health care reform measures."
