keith, it's tbhe oher way around.
FIC is a taiwanese company.
that's where the sub 1000 comes from and they assemble only in Austin about 400 yds from me. I think they have overseas assy too.
so, it comes from fareast...that's retail only.
I don't know the exact plant the sub 1000 deskpro's are assy at..
that's Houston plant for here and maybe Scotland for EEC and singapore may still do pcs don't know.
maybe someone else on thread has seen articles of if Singapore still does pcs.

<<<<<I understand the Asian market is weak

...southeast asian only--don't forget that the rest of the world desperately needs computers!!!!!!

......it is exploding in china and russia

......south africa is desperate for technolgy

.......europe is strong

.......latin america is stable and growing

........the weakness from what i have heard is with the $3,000 boxes.

....imho cpq will dance into the international arena with sub $1,000 machines and begin to dominate the landscape. who can compete with them internationally with such a broad, inexpensive product line?

........long cpq and getting longer in spite of naysayers
