There will be rampant global inflation and erosion of the purchasing power of many currencies as measured against all commodities and gold -- for a start -- with sharply ascending currency values in countries where there are large current account surpluses -- this will include commodity heavy economies like Canada. The yen is harder to call -- it has been pushed down in value by so many for so long for so many reasons that it might rise like a beach ball held under the water once the downward force is removed. On the other hand, their trade position is falling apart and their population is aging -- it will make it very challenging for them to roll over their silly levels of public debt. For myself, I focus on gold, the Cdn dollar and commodities -- that is where you will see the dollar in free fall.
