it is certainly overrated and overpriced in relation to economic value.

Perhaps in the long run, but degrees from high-falutin' schools certainly do give a beginner a leg up during his initial endeavors. And if he is clever, or a good suck-up, the degree might be sufficient to keep him on-track.

Taleb writes entertaingly about the Ivy league idiots he encountered during his Wall St. days.
