Nah, its not about putting people down, its just about taking them off ventilators and not letting them in hospitals. The fact is they could do this whenever the government declares a flu emergency (in the state not necessarily the nation) regardless of whether its "necessary", whether its a real emergency.

It boggles my mind that you think that there are psychopaths running hospitals just waiting for some excuse to mass murder.

I think there are people capable of panic and others with god complexes. If you pass a law allowing it, it will be exercised. I think there are plenty of bureaucrats and politicians willing to save money by letting old people die sooner.

and you have gurneys in the halls.

Let 'em fill up the halls if they need to.

If you pass a law allowing the system to deny treatment to "end of life" folks with "poor prospects" (which if you label them that you make it a fact), hospitals will do it to save money on uninsured people, governments will declare "emergencies" to justify saving money on old people.
Whenever they want to trim costs, they'll declare an emergency.

Negative things will happen and I think thats what they're setting the stage for. There sure isn't any existing emergency they need to do this for now.

Its happening in Britain now.

i would think with all that vacant space in buildings in florida an emergency plan could be put into action versus the alternative to chose who lives and who doesn't?

Florida doesn't have some kind of program for national disaster? they cannot set up in vacant facilities to prepare for flue emergency is several locations throughout the state. If it develops isn't there a system to get doctors, nurses etc in from other states during emergencies where states are not impacted by the flue?

It all sounds like some crazy politician came out of a black out and proposed this stuff. Florida needs someone with real vision.
