I have had a bunch of threads over the years (I have been on SI since 1996)

We had a really good group of people who got to know each other over the years. We even had several meets in Vegas and one to Reno.

We were active traders, but we also had a lot of fun, talked politics, music, kids, technical analysis and whatever else amused us.

Oral, Smithee, mph (Minnow!!!), Sarkie and Carolyn and Augustus Gloop, shootie (trigger happy), mulholland drive, faqsnlojiks, rainy day woman and of course, smoothsail, were all active on the threads.

The social threads started as an offshoot to the Point & Figure thread because we were a bit too boisterious for some of the readers fo that thread.

Some of the threads that I started and then periodically retired, only to be replaced with a new thread:

Piffer OT and other assorted nuts
Paint the Table
Drillbits and Bottlerockets
Groundhog Day
Galapagos Islands
BuSab (my latest thread)

So where the Groundhog Day thread is only active one day a year, there is a long history behind it.

Groundhog Day thread was one of several where the piffers hung out. People moved on, but some of the original posters are still around <ggg>
