While I personally don't feel the need to correct people I don't want to talk to, I can understand why the administration needs to do it. On the one hand you don't want them dignify and elevating mental midgets- but when the midget has a national soap box, I guess sometimes folks have to set the record straight. Of course since both sides see the "other" side as crooked the folks spouting the obviously false stuff are never going to see it is false. I am sure we do the same thing on the left about other stuff- for example fiscal impacts- but that does not make it "better" that the right is fudging the facts on other things.
