I know it costs us ~$40K to put on a warehouse guy when you consider total cost including benefits.

If that cost goes to $60K, does it affect, in any way, your willingness to hire one?

The point is you want to cut people down when they rise too high. What do you have against TV & movie & movie stars and professional athletes? Does Tiger Woods or Oprah offend you?
