Wow. I have an uncle who is a sober alcoholic. He was always a fun guy even when drunk though. Friendliest guy you'd meet. Still great fun to be around so he didn't need booze though he thought he did. I just relayed this story on another thread. He was in the military while he was drinking. It actually got him medically retired. At any rate he is in the hospital for the umpteenth time for alcohol related problems and his doctor comes in on morning rounds and drops off 3 fifths of vodka. Dale said, "Hey that is great, what are we celebrating?" Doctor said, "I'm celebrating being rid of you. Drink those and have a ball and you'll be dead by the time your done with them. Then I don't have to deal with your sorry ass anymore." He never drank another drop. Bodies ability to heal is something else also as Dale is a very healthy 83.
