When my dad got back from Dallas, I sat and listened to him for 3 hours while he related what happened afterward. Just incredible stories. My biggest regret is that I didn't take notes or make him write it down. We didn't have recorders in those days. When he passed on, I went searching through all his papers hoping to find something he'd written down but never found anything. JXN was only a few months old at the time and I arranged a bed for him and his older sister in the living room so I could watch TV.

Me too Smithee! It was really kind of surreal. I (almost) thought it was a soap opera or something. My mind couldn't grasp the reality of it all.
