Interesting observations all, Maurice. Thanks. However, I hasten to mention that, if I inspired any thinking along the lines that it was my opinion that Pandora was acting in a predatory fashion, then let me clarify and assure that such was not my intent. Quite the opposite, in fact. It was, as you suggested, the sudden "change" that affected my behavior, as irrational as it might have been, since I'd probably seriously consider paying a small amount to Pandora on a monthly basis anyway under different circumstances, especially if they made a few changes to their features and capabilities.
